Introduction
[[Real Palace of Dragons, Fantasyland - year 2022]]
Sauce: (Knocks the door) Hey, Lobo.
Lobo: What the hell do you want?!
Sauce: It’s just I’ve read a really interesting book and I thought you’d like it.
Lobo: Huh? (Opens the door of his bedroom) You can come in. But, how’s the book titled?
Sauce: It’s titled The Sabrine & Tailey story. It’s a very beautiful novel. (Gives Lobo the book)
Lobo: (Takes the book and browses through It) It seems alright… but is too long. I’m too lazy for reading it. (Gives it back to Sauce)
Sauce: You decide. I’m just leaving it here. (Leaves the book in Lobo’s desk and goes out from his bedroom) But I think it will help you with learning some respect…
Lobo: (Sticks his tongue out to Sauce and closes the door) Respect? Ha! I’m a total master in respect. (Sits down on his bed) And most of all, I don’t need any stupid novel to learn anything.
[[That same night]]
Lobo: (Goes to sleep, but he can’t) Damn it… (Looks askance at the book and sighs) I guess I have no option… (Takes the book and starts reading it)
Prologue
Dragons and humans have always been in war. No-one knows how or why, but this is a fact. Many dragons ended with human lives, and many humans ended with dragon lives. Although neither species are willing to admit the guilt. But, could that change?
Chapter 1: A young hunter
[[Rothiemurchus Forest, Scotland - year 1953]]
In the deepest forests, a young dragon hunter entered. She searched for any dragon to catch, by order of her boss. He told her that a young lady like her hadn’t any future if she didn’t do what she was told, so she just obeyed. Although she’d chosen to be a hunter, she didn’t like being obeyed at all.
In the same forest, a little dragon had gone out for a walk. She had been so busy looking around that she got lost. Trying to find help or a way out, she found a figure, to whom she asked:
– Excuse me, do you know where The Village is?
The figure noticed the little dragon and, completely stunned, lowered her axe.
– Not really… - she answered.
– Wait a minute… – the little dragon took a step back, noticing the figure’s appearance. It seemed dangerously familiar to her.– A… hunter…
The hunter was equally surprised. She had never seen a dragon that could speak.
– Uh… yeah, a hunter… – she answered, hesitantly.
The little dragon let out a gasp and took more steps back. The hunter looked around. This dragon seemed intelligent… and that piqued her curiosity.
– Relax… I’m not going to hurt you. – said the hunter, putting away her axe.
– Sure, sure… you’re not going to hurt me. But you will capture me and sell me to someone who will probably hurt me.
The hunter sighed and looked at the little dragon with a kind of pity. She didn’t understand it… she had never felt bad about catching a dragon… why now?
– Yeah… that’s what I… normally do…
– I knew it… – the little dragon answered, with tears in her eyes.– Hunters don’t have a heart!
After saying that, the little dragon ran away, fleeing from the hunter. The hunter ran after her. She didn’t really know why she was running. What was so special about this dragon? Apart from talking, of course. Either way, she wasn’t planning on capturing or hurting this creature.
The hunter seemed to be right in running after the dragon, because the latter had fallen into a trap that she had set herself. While the poor creature struggled in the trap, trying to get out, the hunter watched her without knowing what to do. Her boss would punish her severely if she came back empty-handed, but she had to admit, she felt sorry for this little dragon. She approached the trap and carefully freed the creature.
– I don’t want to see you like this – said the hunter. – I don’t want to capture you, or sell you, or anything like that.
The dragon was surprised by that, but she didn’t believe her words so quickly.
– And how do I know… that you’re being sincere?
The hunter was blank for a moment. Then, she sighed and knelt down to be at the same height as the little dragon.
– I don’t know how I can prove it but… I don’t plan on capturing you.
The dragon was surprised and looked into her eyes. Then, she smiled.
– I suppose you are a hunter with a heart…
The hunter smiled back and extended her hand in a friendly manner.
– My name is Fraser, Sabrine Fraser.
– My name is Tailey Longfang - she replied, shaking her hand.
